Views
A view is a small piece of saved data. It says what to draw, and it does not hold lines.
Plans, sections and elevations are vector drawings: lines, arcs, regions and text in metres. An isometric view is an image.
Sheets
A sheet is a page with a size in millimetres. A viewport puts one view on the sheet at a scale. A title block shows the sheet number and the project name. One view can be on many sheets. Each viewport has its own frame and its own scale. The project
A project holds the three things together: the building model, the views and the sheets. You save and open the project as one file.Get the linework
drawProjectView gives you the vector drawing of one view. Use it to show a plan in your own canvas or to measure a drawing.
What Floorkit draws today
- Plans cut straight walls at the cut height. Doors, windows and stairs show with their plan symbols.
- Sections use a straight cut line. Elevations look at the building from outside.
- A plan and an elevation draw a body up to 1 km from the origin of the model. A section draws a body up to about 980 m from the origin. When Floorkit cannot draw a body, it gives an error.
- If Floorkit cannot draw a view, it gives an error with a code. It does not draw something different in its place.
